If you have no idea yet what VUL stands for, it's Variable Unit linked. It's a type of paper asset which functions as an INSURANCE with Investment components.

You're probably thinking, "insurance? Am I getting ready to die????" Calm down, Slap yourself before I do it for you.

Okay, so this is one important aspect of our lives that we never wanted to talk about. We dread it! I know. Because I've been there too.

But one thing's for sure, we're all born mortals. Unless you're Chris Martin (Coldplay front man) then you're immortal, a legend LOL. okay back to the topic!!!! And whether we like it or not, departure date's gonna come and often times, it comes as a surprise.

So while you're taking the time to let that sink in, you might want to think about your loved ones as well. Who pops in your mind? Mom, dad, siblings, husband, or kids? Whoever they are for sure when you're already gone they'll be glad to receive a gift from you. Whether it's for your parents' money to enjoy while they retire or for your kids education, it is indeed love written in paper.

But enough with the cheese. Let's go to the fun part.

I've said earlier that VUL is an Insurance with Investment Component

Yes, because it solves 2 major problems of Filipinos.

DYING TOO SOON and LIVING TOO LONG.

So what if you live too long? Studies show that here in our country when we reach 60, 99% of Filipinos are either, still working, is sick, broke or dependent on their loved ones. If you've read my personal story, I mentioned there that the reason why I do what I do is because I've seen enough from my parents. They're part of the 99% who didn't have comfortable retirement, unfortunately.

But how does this VUL work as an investment?

Simple. The insurance companies hire fund managers to invest a portion of your premium (your payment) to the stock market. It's like UBER POOL again. They pool your money to invest in stocks, bonds and money markets and you profit from it. You can actually use the money later on when you retire or if you're sending your kids to college, or even if you're planning to finally buy that precious birkin bag, you can use it for so many purposes!

It's like your favorite Beauty Bundle

You have:

Facial Cleanser- Insurance

Facial Mask - Investment

Moisturizer - Critical Illness Fund/Accident Coverage

Oh i forgot to mention that this is included too!

Imagine that you're in a hospital and you were diagnosed with the letter C shit and they tell you that you have to undergo operation and chemo and the price is a half a million.

What are you gonna do?

You have several options

  1. Withdraw all your savings (that was supposedly for something more important like kids education, retirement or business)

  2. Sell your stuff, that includes your Balenciaga bag, your Valentino heels, your car or worst, your property!

  3. Ask friends and relatives for help and set up a Go fund me account and wait for donations

  4. Call the nearest albularyo (baka madaan sa tawas)

  5. Claim your Critical illness fund from an insurance company, I mean that is if you prepared for one!

It's all up to you...

By the way the best part of this is, the price of this investment bundle starts at (PHP) 1,500 pesos/month only (for some companies). So you see, if you can actually afford an iPhone plan that's just about the same price or a few Starbucks Venti cups a month, how much does it only costs you to be RESPONSIBLE for your own life? YOU NEED THIS, WOMAN! You can have the best of both worlds!

There are actually lots of topics we can discuss about VUL's.
